Going into third year I already know I am working towards becoming a teacher, however in order to decide how I am going to achieve this and finding out what qualifications I need to get where I went to the routs into teaching open day. I went to this in January 2019 I was planning on going to the one this year as well however due to circumstances it has been cancelled. I spoke to some lecturers there and found that my two best options for teaching college or university are a PGCE or a PHD.
Continuing from the open day January this year I went to a careers appointment, deciding which route I want to go down and how to apply, I decided to do my masters next before going on to a PHD. I spoke to Julia, the career counsellor at the university and found out that I needed to apply through the university website rather than UCAS and that I had to write an essay proposal.
Above are the notes that got sent to me after the appointment so that I can remember what we discussed closer to the time of applying.
Following on from this appointment I decided to apply for the Art and Design masters under Photography and Materiality which flows on from my dissertation. I found out that the main lecturer for this course was Stella one of my Lecturers and went to speak to her about the essay proposal, to find out what I needed to include in it.
