Photoshoot - Michael

Model - Michael

Location - Studio

Camera - Mamiya

Lens - 80 mm

ISO - 80

F/Stop - f/11

Shutter - 1/125

Lighting - octobox on one side at the front and a strip light on the other side at the back to add that highlight on the arm, then a board out create a stronger shadowing on the face and an outline on the model.

I am looking for a bolder outline on the model so I could have added a board on the other side as well just to create that strong outline.

The model was quite comfortable in the studio environment but seemed hyper aware that a camera was on them I have a close relationship with him and has accompanied me on many shoots making him more comfortable than most in a studio environment.

His back stiffened as I was taking photos almost like he was trying to pose for an old school photo. He didn't need much direction in posing however he was struggling not to smile as he seemed slightly nervous when I asked him to keep a straight face.

He had recently dropped out of uni making him seem undecided on how he feels being back in a university environment this added to the images feel of vulnerability as he looked around in his uncertainty.
